Curved wooden stool by Thonet for FMG Poland, 1930

This stool was designed by Thonet and manufactured in the former Thonet factory in Jasienica by FMG (Fabryka Mebli Gietych), in Poland between the 1930s and 1940s. The FMG brand was born from the nationalisation of several Thonet factories after the Second World War. This model is inspired by the Thonet stool 302/47. Its structure is made of bent beech. This stool is in good original and vintage condition, showing some marks and signs of normal wear for its age (see photos) on the structure, seat, legs, edges, and the ring under the seat, as well as a natural patina (see photos). An old repair is visible on the ring (see photo). It has been carefully cleaned, oiled, waxed, and polished, while preserving its original patina. The stool bears the manufacturer's mark and the country of origin under the seat (see photo). All photos were taken in natural outdoor light; colours may therefore vary depending on brightness, angle of view, and perspective.
