Napoleon III bistro furniture (renovated)

This imposing Napoleon III bistro cabinet dates from the late 19th century. Standing at 2.30m tall, it is distinguished by its large central mirror, presentation shelves, and particularly elegant architecture. A rare piece, likely originally intended for the furnishing of a café, restaurant, or shop. Materials: Made of solid wood and veneer, the bistro cabinet retains its large antique mirror (note that it is speckled). Its waxed black patina highlights the mouldings, turned columns, and the lines of its structure. Features: The lower part of the cabinet opens with two doors to reveal two levels of storage. It is topped with a wide shelf and a large mirror framed by turned columns and four small quarter-moon side shelves, probably intended for displaying glasses, bottles, or objects. The whole is crowned with a significant moulded cornice with rounded ends. The lock on the lower buffet is no longer functional, but this does not prevent the doors from closing properly. Renovation: This former bistro cabinet has undergone significant restoration work. It has been sanded and treated against wood-boring insects. Several elements have been re-glued, and the damaged veneer parts have been repaired. A black patina has then been applied and protected with wax. Dimensions: L149 X D41 X H230. An exceptional piece due to its proportions and composition, it could regain its function as a bar cabinet or become a spectacular mirrored buffet in a dining room, hallway, restaurant, or shop.
