Solid teak frame with original upholstery. Designed by Grete Jalk for Glostrup Møbelfabrik, Denmark, 1960s. Designed by Grete Jalk for Glostrup Møbelfabrik in the 1960s, these armchairs are characterised by a solid teak frame in which every structural element remains clearly legible. The armrests, tapered towards the ends, merge seamlessly into the front uprights, while the backrest leaves the rear vertical supports exposed. Trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under Kaare Klint, Grete Jalk paid particular attention to construction quality and to combining industrial production with the careful craftsmanship of solid wood, qualities that are also evident in this model. The seat and backrest retain their original ecru fabric upholstery. Good condition. They may show some signs of age and use. Please pay close attention to the photographs. AF841
