Violet mauve cut crystal soliflore vase, Cristal d’Arques

Here is a very beautiful moulded crystal vase whose colour, a wonderful violet, is quite original. Its design is also particularly successful, with a thick base to ensure good stability, an elongated shape, tapered in the middle and nicely highlighted by draped reliefs. It was made by the famous glassworks-crystal factory in Arques, established in 1968 (the adhesive label "cristal d’Arques" is still present), a manufacturer also renowned for its quality glassware with brands like Arcopal and Arcoroc. I think I read on the label "guaranteed more than 24% PbO", which gives the crystal a very beautiful transparency. I do not know exactly until when this vase was produced, but in any case, it was before 2009 since the brand ceased producing crystal that year (replaced by Diamax, a glass with almost all the qualities of crystal but lacking its sound). It is in very good condition, the crystal is clean, transparent, and luminous, with no chips or scratches, although I seem to feel, to the touch, tiny nicks or roughness on the lowest points of the draping, which are not visible in any case. The edges have been worked, smoothed, and are very smooth. It measures 17 cm in height, 4.3 cm in width at the base, and 5.6 cm in width at the opening.
