Teak daybed with boucle mattress, Denmark, 1960s

Two copies available – price per unit. Elegant handmade daybed in solid teak, made in Denmark in the 1960s. It embodies all the qualities of Danish Modern: clean lines, meticulous craftsmanship, and a sense of detail that reveals its refinement only upon closer inspection. The legs rest on round feet that gently taper upwards and downwards, giving the bed an airy lightness. The beautiful supporting frame accommodates a slatted base, with the slats featuring a pentagonal cross-section – an exceptional detail. The assembly of the slats with the structure is particularly well executed: the visible fixing points align at regular intervals, giving the bed a calm, almost musical rhythm. The solid teak showcases a warm grain and a magnificent patina acquired over the decades. The mattress is a new foam cushion, covered in high-quality boucle fabric from Sahco (Kvadrat) in a warm teddy bear brown. The soft, textured fabric contrasts beautifully with the teak. Daybed, bench, sofa, or children's bed: the piece is very versatile. Two identical copies are available, forming a lovely pair. Condition: very good vintage condition – solid teak in excellent condition with a superb natural patina, new mattress. A rare piece of Danish craftsmanship for living rooms and bedrooms.
