Large vintage hand-carved wooden platter – mahogany, 1960s

Large, hand-turned and hand-carved solid wood deep platter in a tropical species reminiscent of mahogany. Its gouged surface gives it a subtle, organic textured effect. The deep patina of the wood reveals beautiful reddish veins, with some lighter touches. The piece is unsigned but evokes careful craftsmanship, probably from the 1960s or 1970s. This platter is both decorative and functional: a trinket dish, fruit bowl, centerpiece, or wall sculpture if hung. Dimensions.
