Philippe Starck Set of POAA Dumbbells + Ray Hollis Ashtray for XO 1990s

Ray Hollis ashtray + set of POAA dumbbells, designed by Philippe Starck for XO France, that he co-founded. Both are marked and signed at the bottom and the ashtray on the lid as well. The ashtray was originally designed in 1986 for the Royalton Hotel in New York. XO started the production in 1990. It is made of polished aluminum. The model's name is taken from the book Ubik, as he often did for his creations. The sizes of the ashtray are: w: 0, 115; d: 0, 075; h: 0, 11. The POAA dumbbells were originally designed for the Sanderson Hotel in London, for which Starck designed the interiors. It was published by XO in 1999. These dumbbells are quite rare and not offered a lot. They are made of stainless steel. The organic shaped hand weights give the perfect grip for the left and right hand. These exquisite objects are therefore functional, but are more suitable as art objects. Lovely sculptures. Both the ashtray and the dumbbells are in excellent condition. They were never used.
