Rectangular carved wooden box, handcrafted in Nepal. Second half of the 20th century. Wooden box with a lid, adorned with a floral design carved in relief on the top surface. The pattern, composed of stylised flowers and foliage, is framed by finely carved triangular panels. The wood, either unvarnished or lightly polished, displays natural variations in grain. The interior is lined with a hand-applied red fabric, typical of items intended for storing small objects or jewellery. The metal hinges are simple and functional. This type of box, widely produced in the 1960sā1980s, is part of the decorative craftsmanship of North India and Nepal, often made from sheesham wood or local rosewood. Length 15 cm. Width 10 cm. Slightly worn interior fabric, wood without structural cracks.
