Authentic decorative plate in fine earthenware from the Creil and Montereau factory, Barluet & Cie period (circa 1880-1889). A workshop piece entirely hand-painted, reflecting the refinement of the Japonisme movement in France at the end of the 19th century. The reverse is signed with the impressed mark "B & Cie" along with its size number 24 and the worker's mark (Pique). THE DECORATION An exotic bird with white and pink plumage (inspired by the cockatoo) perched on a flowering branch. The polychrome motif stands out against a deep turquoise blue background, structured by a delicate network of geometric lines enhanced with gilding. This aesthetic recalls the spirit of cloisonné enamels from Asia or productions from Longwy. CONDITION: The earthenware is sound, with no cracks or restorations. Glossy glaze with an original gradient effect on the rim (the border). Two tiny chips in the glaze the size of a pinhead (one under the left wing, the other on the lower right edge). Two slight original firing irregularities on the rim (pernette marks), typical of 19th-century manufacturing processes. 📏 DIAMETER: 24.5 cm (slightly hollow model). 💡 DECOR IDEA: Ideal as a wall plate in a collection of blue ceramics, on a brass easel in a cabinet of curiosities, or to enhance a mid-century sideboard. 🌍 DELIVERY OR COLLECTION SHIPPING: Secure professional packaging (reused eco-friendly materials).
