Console with Cut-Outs in Plexiglass and Chrome Metal. Two Glass Shelves.

This console features a cut-corner top with a chrome metal frame enclosing a beveled transparent glass; it rests on solid cylindrical plexiglass legs, accented with rings in gilded brass. A glass shelf, also framed in metal, connects the legs at mid-height and provides a second display surface. The combination of plexiglass — the star material of the 1970s popularized by American and European designers — chrome, and glass illustrates the taste of that decade for transparent furniture, which seems to float in space and allows light to circulate. Condition assessment: Good overall condition. Translucent plexiglass with beautiful transparency; shiny chrome. An airy console, ideal for an entryway or behind a sofa.
