Florentine Savonarola folding wooden chair, 20th century. Good condition. This mobile Italian chair from the late 15th century, a distant descendant of the Roman curule chair, is called a "sedia savonarola" because of its appearance during the time of G. Savonarola, an enlightened Dominican who ruled Florence from 1494 to 1498. Dimensions: height 82 cm, width 65 cm, depth 52.5 cm, seat height 46 cm. Folded dimensions: height 88 cm, width 20 cm.
