Set of Cab 412 Chairs by Mario Bellini for Cassina, 1977

Created in 1977, the golden age of Italian design, the Cab 412 chairs became the very first independent chairs to be completely enveloped in leather. Mario Bellini, the creator, referred to it as a "new kind of chair." Today, it remains an iconic item in the esteemed Cassina collection. The chair's upholstery is meticulously sewn and custom-fitted around a steel structure, seamlessly sealed with a zipper, much like a tailored article of clothing. Abrasion and wear can be spotted on the leather along with signs of use, and one of the chairs' leg is bent, while on another the leather on the inner part is damaged. SKU: GB0197
