This contemporary piece is a handmade oak wood and round glass round coffee table. Made by an unknown artist from the province of zeeland during the 90s, likely in the artist village domburg. Although no official provenance is provided, the table was acquired from an older gentlemen living in domburg who bought it in a domburg gallery somewhere during the 90s. He mentioned that it was a up-and-coming dutch artist back in the days. Domburg is a town in zeeland, on the outer west coast of the province, bordering the north sea directly. It is well-known as a mondain beach village, with lots of history attached to it. The town has a rich history of aristocracy and artists alike. For example, the well-known painter piet mondriaan resided in domburg for a prolonged period and jan toorop was born and raised in domburg. The village has had a long history of artists afterwards. This specific table is handmade and surely is a stunner to look at. Very simple lines yet the tilted beech wood plate with the sculpted beech leg going right through it, provides for a very interesting line play. The glass plate rests on top of both the plate and the leg and provides more stability than might appear at first sight. The entire table has a very simplistic and minimal and yet a very elegant appearance. The table is in a near new-worthy condition with extremely limited wear.
