French antique work table in pitch pine – large workshop / draper's table, early 20th century

This antique French work table comes from a workshop and dates from the early 20th century. Made of solid pitch pine, it features a simple and functional design typical of utilitarian furniture from that era. The large rectangular top provides a generous work surface, supported by a sturdy base with an integrated lower shelf for additional storage. Its proportions and layout suggest it may have been used as a work or general preparation table, but it is also suitable as a draper's table for handling textiles or materials. At a later date, four fixed iron casters with rubber wheels were added, allowing the table to be moved if necessary while maintaining its stability. The surface shows a natural patina, with signs of use consistent with its age and original function. The construction is solid and suitable for continuous daily use.
