Vintage draper's table / Kitchen island – 1930s

This vintage French work table dates from around the 1930s and was originally used as a fabric shop table. Made of pine and poplar, it features a long natural wood top, a base painted in pale mint green, a drawer with a metal handle, and a full-length lower shelf. The original painted finish shows considerable wear with areas of exposed wood, scratches, and marks. The natural wood top has a warm brown colour, with visible grain and signs of previous use. Measuring 180 cm long and 90 cm high, the table is particularly suited as a kitchen island or preparation table. Its relatively narrow depth of 58 cm also makes it practical for kitchens with limited space. It can also be used as a shop counter, workshop table, or display table.
