Set of eight chairs in the style of Marcel Breuer, model Cesca from the 1970s. Designed in 1928 by Marcel Breuer, then a master craftsman at the Bauhaus, the Cesca is one of the very first cantilever chairs: its frame made from a single piece of bent steel tubing eliminates the back legs, and this overhang gives the seat its flexibility and lightness. Breuer named it after his daughter Francesca; it was later produced by Thonet and then by Italian manufacturers in the 1960s-70s, becoming one of the most copied chairs of the 20th century. This set retains the original design: black lacquered tubular structure, seat and backrest upholstered in their original red fabric. Finding eight matching chairs is rare - perfect for equipping a large table in one go. Dimensions: W. 46 x D. 52 x H. 82 cm, seat height 49 cm. Condition: good vintage condition, paint is chipped in places and there are some stains on the original fabric, stackable, sturdy and stable. REF CH2546
