Executed in a semi-abstract manner, we can discern a landscape composition, where rows of houses are lined by a river, with lush greenery in the background. Using a muted and subdued colour palette, the artist has skilfully reconstructed this scene down to blocks of contrasting colours executed through the use of short and broad brushstrokes. The array of colours harmonise gracefully together, as it wonderfully captures the warmth of this setting. This oil on canvas is housed in a wood and gilt frame with linen border, which complements the painting very well. The painting and frame are both in excellent vintage condition.
