Elegant sewing necessary from the Napoléon III period in blackened wood, richly decorated with golden motifs in the Japonisme style. The lid features a central gold decoration depicting a lively scene in a landscape, framed by scrolls and floral patterns. The interior is fitted with numerous compartments and drawers for sewing accessories. The whole rests on a blackened wooden base with a stretcher, finished with sculpted feet. A lower compartment is lined with red fabric. A beautiful decorative and collectible item, particularly striking when opened. Dimensions: H. 66 × W. 59 × D. 40 cm Condition: good overall condition, signs of use related to age.
