Vintage wall plaque or tile designed by Lisa Larson (1931 - 2024) in 1960 for Gustavsberg in Sweden. Part of the HARLEQUIN series produced from 1960 to 1969. This THREE BIRDS plate is handmade from white stoneware and partially glazed. On a bottle green background, the 3 birds transition from blue to yellow through green. In the reference book LISA LARSON GUSTAVSBERG 1954-1980, you will find the Harlequin series on pages 20-21. Measures 19 X 19 centimetres or approximately 7.5 X 7.5 inches. Weight: 1050 grams. For your information, I have a second similar plate in my listings but with a different glaze on the birds. In very good condition. Signed with the Gustavsberg logo. This plaque can be a wall tile with a steel wire as support or can be displayed flat or on a stand. Lisa Larson (1931-2024) and her pottery are iconic figures of 20th-century Swedish ceramic design. She is known for her warm creations, full of humour and sometimes subtly ironic. Lisa worked for the Gustavsberg factory from 1954 to 1980. She is represented at the National Museum of Swedish Art and Design.
