French studio pottery vase pitcher dating from the early 1960s. Hand-thrown earthenware with layered green, charcoal, and turquoise glazes, enriched with hand-painted enamel decoration in red, blue, and ochre. Signed on the underside. The combination of volcanic glazes, abstract enamel decoration, and free-form shape places it within the French studio pottery tradition that developed alongside the Vallauris movement during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Rather than being factory produced, it reflects the individual approach of the studio potters working in France during this period. An expressive decorative piece, equally suitable displayed on its own or with a simple arrangement of branches or flowers. Very beautiful in person. Dimensions. Height: 11.81 in. (30 cm) Width: 5.91 in. (15 cm) Condition. Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or restorations.
