Corner Unit in Veneered Walnut with Carved Pediment

The indicated measurements may vary by a few centimetres as we did not have the opportunity to take precise dimensions. Type and Style: This is an elegant vertical corner cabinet, characterised by a lower section closed with a curved door and topped with a richly carved and pierced pediment. The style recalls the cabinetry of the late 19th century (historicist or eclectic period). Materials and Construction: The structure is made of solid wood and veneered with walnut burl, which gives the drawer front and the curved door their characteristic and precious flame and speckled pattern. The upper part features complex pierced sculptural work, composed of volutes and scrolls arranged symmetrically, culminating in a pointed finial. Structure: Lower part: Composed of a drawer in the frieze beneath the top with its original knob, and an interior compartment closed by a curved door, equipped with profiled wooden shelves. Upper part: A sumptuous decorative cornice against the wall, which significantly elongates the silhouette of the piece. Condition and Restoration: The object is in excellent overall condition, reflecting a meticulous conservative restoration that has highlighted the walnut burl veneer as well as the original hardware.
