Set of 6 handmade vintage studio pottery cups

Beautiful set of six handmade vintage ceramic cups, each individually formed with a softly faceted, irregular shape. The cups are decorated with a charming raised floral and bird motif, picked out in muted cobalt blue and warm brown against a creamy grey-white glaze. The combination of stylised birds, flowers, earthy glazes and hand-built forms is strongly reminiscent of 1970s European and Scandinavian studio pottery, where folk-inspired botanical and animal motifs were particularly popular. These appear to be genuine handmade studio pieces rather than factory-produced tableware: the shapes, rims and decoration vary subtly from cup to cup, while the bases show the natural clay body. They are unsigned, so the exact potter and country of origin remain unidentified. Approx. 9–10 cm high × 7–8 cm diameter each. Very good vintage condition with the natural irregularities and glaze variations inherent to handmade pottery. A particularly decorative and unusual complete set of six, ideal as small drinking cups, espresso cups or simply displayed together. REF 26346.
