In the 1950s, the Dutch brand Rohé Noordwolde produced stylish bamboo and rattan chairs, often combined with a metal base. These chairs are characterized by their light, organic design and open structure, fitting into the mid-century modernist style. They were handmade in Noordwolde, then the center of the rattan industry. Although designers like Dirk van Sliedregt are sometimes associated with this type of furniture, his work is mainly linked to other manufacturers. The exact designers at Rohé are often unknown.
