Old marine painting by Janssaud, 19th century. Subject: marine. Mathurin Janssaud was born in Manosque on 29 March 1857 and died in Paris on 27 January 1940. He is a French post-impressionist painter, known for his watercolours and for being part of the Concarneau group. He left his native province before the start of the First World War and first went to Paris, then to Brittany, which interested him for its landscapes. It is in Concarneau that he settled with eleven other artists. Medium: watercolour on paper. Dimensions: 22.5 x 18 cm. Condition: generally good condition (see photo). Period: 19th century. Signature at the bottom right "Janssaud".
