Oil painting on hardboard, titled on the back “trawler and thoniers”, signed georges lhermitte (1882-1967). Lhermitte is a french painter who graduated from the école des beaux-arts in nantes with a specialty in architecture. Born in paris, this breton at heart spent a large part of his artistic life painting the daily life of fishing ports. “trawler and tuna boats” depicts a fishing scene. In full preparation for going to sea, the fishermen reach their boats using small boats. This painted hardboard panel is highlighted by an antique white frame with gold trim.
