Original vintage ceramic vase made in west germany by bay keramik. The bay pottery (bay keramik) founded by eduard bay in ransbach-baumbach in 1933 was one of the most successful factories in the west. This fat lava vase brown and cream speckled stoneware mid century boho décor was made around the 1960s. The term fat lava gets its name from the relief glaze effects, often used with orange-yellow colors, which give the surface of the pieces a characteristic appearance of bubbling lava. The pieces, mass-produced and cast, were then individually glazed, leaving a great deal of freedom to the enamelers, who went so far as to test the most unexpected combinations. We can thus find the same model dressed in a multitude of glazes depending on the creator. The bottom of the vase is marked 7508-20. The first numbers indicate the shape of the mold and the last the height in cm. Dimensions: h 20.3 cm xl 17.8 cm xp 17.8 cm and with a 7.6 cm diameter opening. Conditions: excellent vintage condition that may show signs of wear due to age and use, no chips or cracks.
