We proudly presents this work of art. Get yourself a piece of design history! We have a getsuen chair by masanori umeda for edra in excellent condition. Umeda's masterpiece is so iconic that one associates his name with this unique purple chair shaped like a kikyo or chinese bellflower, which he first presented at the kagu tokyo designers week '88 exhibition in 1988. Umeda created his flowers collection for the tuscan company edra (founded in 1987) in an attempt to reconnect design with nature. "modern industrialization in the west has given priority to function and efficiency, and has destroyed beautiful nature, " umeda said. "that's why my design works are full of motifs of animals, plants and nature." He incorporated the flower motif using elements of traditional design. The stamen of the flower is represented in the stitching and classic button tufting on the seat. The velvety surface of the upholstery mimics the feel of flower petals, and the rear wheels (for easy transport between rooms) are painted bright green as a stand-in for a stem.
