Art Deco round vase by Boch Frères Keramis, red flowers and blue bands.

Art Deco round vase in fine earthenware, designed by Raymond Chevallier for Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière (Belgium), 1930s. A decorator at the factory during the interwar period, alongside Charles Catteau, Raymond Chevallier created numerous floral designs with a graphic and light style, which significantly contributed to the Art Deco identity of Keramis. The spherical body features a decoration of small coral red roses with spiral centres, on branches of black, grey, and ochre foliage, enhanced with sprayed yellow touches, against a cream background. The flared neck and base are covered in a bright lavender blue, highlighted with golden fillets. Two golden volute handles give it an amphora-like silhouette. It is a cheerful and highly decorative piece, with a successful contrast between the bold blue and the lightness of the floral motif. It will easily find its place on a console, shelf, or fireplace, with or without flowers. Marks under the base: circular Boch Frères Keramis stamp with a crown, hand-painted shape and decoration numbers (F1495 / D.5161), impressed number and painter's mark. Dimensions. Height: 17.5 cm. Width (including handles): 14 cm. Condition. Good vintage condition, in line with its age. Wear to the gilding on the lip and handles. Small points of wear to the glaze on the inner edge of the neck.
