Eva Renée Nele Bode (Born in 1932) Publisher: Temde Lechten. Teak application. Fabric lampshade, cord switch. German design from the 1960s. Height: 34cm. Very good condition, wear on the lampshade, works. *Eva Renée Nele was born in Berlin on 15 March 1932. Her father, Arnold Bode, was the founder of Documenta in Kassel, Germany, where she spent her childhood and early adulthood. From 1950 to 1955, she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin under Hans Uhlmann, then at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London, and finally at the Lacourière Workshop in Paris. In 1956, she held a solo exhibition at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, followed by exhibitions at the Van de Loo Gallery in Munich and the Molton Gallery in London in 1960. She participated in group exhibitions, including the Antwerp Sculpture Biennale, the Triveneto Art Biennale in Padua (1959), and several editions of Documenta in Kassel (1959, 1964, 1982). Until 1962, Nele was a member of the Situationist International. Founded in Cosio d'Arroscia, Italy, in 1957, this international political and artistic movement drew on the fusion of diverse artistic currents such as the Lettrist International, the International Movement for an Imaginary Bauhaus, and the CoBrA group. Its ambition was to bring art and life closer together. Nele's work reflects her political beliefs and demonstrates her awareness of social issues and her response to them. Fear, existential crisis, and death are among the central themes of her sculpture, which focuses less on representing beauty and more on exploring human interiority.
