A modernist vase produced by the Hortensja Glassworks in Piotrków Trybunalski in the 1970s, made of double-layered glass – the dominant part is a warm, smoky brown, contrasted with transparent cut-outs revealing the clear structure of the material. The pattern on the body is rich: deep cuts create geometric and botanical motifs, with stylised leaves and star-shaped rosettes standing out. The delicate sheen of the surface highlights the quality of the polished cut glass. The proportions are classically balanced: a clearly defined base smoothly transitions into slightly flared arms, and the vase's silhouette gently narrows towards the centre. The condition is described as very good – no visible damage, chips or signs of repair. The form of this vase echoes the modernist 1970s, where the nobility of materials met a modern approach to decoration. The glass, speaking the language of its era, still tells of the pursuit of clarity and subtle decorativeness, balancing between craftsmanship precision and inspiration from nature. The deep brown seems to absorb light and reflect it through transparent cuts, as if each reflection had its own story – a calm glow that still carries a fragment of everyday life from a bygone era. This type of vase can be used as a solo accent on a solid wood chest of drawers, where the dark brown will contrast with classic veneer or contemporary white. It will look good surrounded by geometric graphics, against simple, modernist furniture or in collector's interiors inspired by the mid-century modern style. It is worth combining it with a detail made of glass in a different shade or a single branch of leaves to emphasise the dialogue between the subtle decor and the neutral background.
