Art Nouveau jug by Kralik and Loetz

Collection jug from Bohemia, the world centre of art glass at the turn of the century. This jug perfectly illustrates the Jugendstil style (Art Nouveau of Central Europe). The blown glass features intense metallic iridescence with a decoration of hot-applied threads. Origin: Bohemia (now the Czech Republic), Kralik factory. Technique: "Rainbow" iridescent glass blown with fumination technique (iridescence with metallic reflections) and relief decoration of applied threads. Style: Typical of luxury Austrian productions from 1900. Very good condition. Height 21 cm. Maximum width 9.5 cm.
