Early Bambole Lounge Chair + Ottoman by Mario Bellini for C&B Italia 1972

Great early edition Bambole lounge chair + matching ottoman, designed by Mario Bellini in 1972 for C&B Italia. Both are marked underneath with the original C&B Italia stamp. In 1973 C&B Italia became B&B Italia when Piero Busnelli bought the shares of Cesare Cassina. So C&B made the Bambole only for 1 year. The set is made of the original Gran Zebu leather (marked on the leather), a leather kind known for its exceptional quality, and is executed in the beautiful brown colour. The leather gained a fantastic patina over the years and is still in very good condition, no damages, no crackles. The interior of the chair has been refilled in the original way. Very comfortable and good looking set. The iconic Bambole Series has been awarded with the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1979. The chair + ottoman are in very good condition with a lovely patina.
