8 "Les Arcs" chairs by Charlotte Perriand - period hotel marking

Rare set of 8 Les Arcs chairs, an iconic model associated with Charlotte Perriand, used in residences and designs from the 1960s–70s. These pieces exhibit period patina, original leather that has never been replaced, and a metal structure fully compliant with historical productions. The set has been preserved in its original condition, without restoration, to maintain the integrity and authenticity of the leather. The wear of time (refined leather, superficial oxidation) is uniform and consistent with their age. One of the backrest attachments has a tear left in its original state to respect the history of the lot. Provenance. On one of the seats, an old marking reappears: “Stumpt / Jaso’s / Czi No 17”, accompanied by a stencilled laurel crown. This type of inscription corresponds to the inventory stamps of alpine hotel establishments from the 1960s–70s, where the laurel crown served as a simplified coat of arms. This marking attests to the leather's first life in a period hotel, a rare detail highly sought after by purists.
