Service Marius Giuge Vallauris

Six shell plates and a matching serving dish, made by Marius Giuge, a leading specialist in marbled decoration and a key figure in the ceramic scene of Vallauris from the 1950s to the 1970s. Each plate is carved with cells designed for shells, arranged in a rosette pattern, while the central dish features the same motif in a larger format. The pieces are shaped from a dark, dense clay, contrasted by a relief decoration in turquoise, deep green, and golden brown glazes, offering beautiful effects of texture and depth. Stamped. Diameter of the dish 28 cm. Diameter of the plates 17 cm. In excellent vintage condition, with slight signs of wear consistent with age (see photos). Perfect for a bold table setting or decoration.
