Pair of Italian Bedside Cabinets attributed to Bernini, Italy, circa 1965

Elegant pair of Italian bedside cabinets manufactured by Bernini in the 1960s. The cabinets are distinguished by their refined architectural construction and beautifully figured wood veneer. Each piece features an upper drawer and a lower compartment concealed behind a fall-front door. Both fronts incorporate sculpted recessed handles formed directly in the wood, creating a particularly elegant and graphic detail. The cabinets rest on beautifully crafted solid wood bases with distinctive arched supports and double vertical elements. The sophisticated construction of the bases, together with the carefully executed joinery and restrained detailing, is characteristic of the high-quality cabinetmaking associated with Bernini during this period. The interiors are finished in a contrasting lighter wood. The drawers feature traditional dovetail joints, while the fall-front doors are fitted with their original mechanical supports. The cabinets have been professionally restored, preserving the original character and beautiful grain of the wood. They are presented in excellent condition and are ready for everyday use.
