This large vase is made of canton porcelain, made in china at the beginning of the twentieth century. This vase has a double handle on both sides, with animal and golden shapes. We can see resin decorations, which are white spaces often with floral and vegetal contours. Here, different "po dogs" (also called "shi") are arranged: a pink, a light blue, a dark blue, a green and a brown. The last dominates the square because it is more imposing, pink with a blue mane, a victorious posture with its front legs placed on the sphere representing the supremacy of the world. Canton porcelain, also called cantonese porcelain, is a typical and characteristic style decorated in guangzhou city. Guangzhou is the capital and largest city of guangdong province in southern china. In the 18th and 20th centuries, porcelain objects were the largest export produced in china.
