Spectacular presentation board in the shape of a salmon, made in France by DICAMO in the second half of the 20th century, probably around the 1970s-1980s. This large piece combines a central part made of solid wood with a head and tail of fish in silver-plated cast metal. The metal elements feature detailed decorations of scales and fins, as well as an expressive head with an open mouth. The board bears the geometric monogram DICAMO as well as the mention "Made in France". A groove is carved around the edge of the wooden part. The reverse has original perforations allowing the piece to be hung on the wall. Comparable models signed DICAMO are sometimes presented on the vintage decoration market as having been distributed by Neiman Marcus in the 1970s-1980s. However, this information has not been confirmed by period documents. With its length of 90 cm and weight of 3.3 kg, this piece has a remarkable decorative presence. It can be displayed in a kitchen, dining room, restaurant, fish shop, or a seaside interior. In good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. The wooden part shows scratches, wear, small dents, colour variations, and areas of wear from the old finish. The metal head and tail show a patina and surface wear consistent with age. The wood has been carefully cleaned and treated with wax. The metal elements have also been cleaned while preserving their old patina. The whole is stable and structurally sound.
