Set of 4 blue Plia folding chairs by Castelli

Set of 4 very rare blue Plia chairs. With Plia, Italian designer Giancarlo Piretti redefined the folding chair for the manufacturer Anonima Castelli in 1967, bringing it up to date. Featuring a three-joint hinge and made of steel and transparent Cellidor plastic, the Plia folding chair was an instant success. It has since become a cult object of "Italian design," winning multiple awards and is a centrepiece in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The Plia folding chair consists of a chrome-plated steel tube frame, with a backrest and seat made of Cellidor plastic. Overall in very good condition, with signs of use.
