Wooden bedroom suite with inlays in mid-century Italian style, by Pacifici Prete, Rome.

A beautiful mid-century Italian marquetry bedroom suite, sold by Mobili Arredamenti Pacifici - Prete, Rome, circa 1940-1950. A highly refined set of storage pieces, including a three-drawer chest of drawers and a matching seven-drawer settimanale. The label inside the drawer indicates that the piece was sold by Pacifici - Prete (later known as Artlinea Arredamenti), a historic furniture and interior design store located at Via Napoleone III 82-84 in Rome, active since 1924. Each piece features a serpentine front and elegant fine cabriole legs. The fronts and side panels are richly adorned with central floral marquetry panels, highlighted by hand-painted gold accents against a lacquered background in ebony wood and warm tones. Excellent vintage condition. Showing slight surface wear, light scratches, and a soft patina consistent with age and careful residential use. The structures are very stable with drawers sliding smoothly. Some surface wood defects may be visible in the photos; please examine the photos carefully. Measurements: Chest of drawers: width 96 cm x depth 45 cm x height 83 cm. Settimanale: width 78 cm x depth 47 cm x height 147.5 cm. Made in Italy. Period: 1940s/1950s.
