Unique set of 2 armchairs designed by Ross Littell (American designer 1924-2000) and manufactured by the Italian company Matteo Grassi, 1975. Matteo Grassi was one of the high-quality firms during the 1970s-1980s in Italy, with a focus on house and especially office furniture for intense daily use so they had to provide great quality pieces with a modern functionality. Made out of high-quality thick bordeaux red leather upholtery which acquires charm and beauty as it ages. Organic wing like armrests on a minimalistic off-black lacquered steel tube base which creates a great transparancy. These organic, elegant and very comfortable chairs are of a high-quality and great mid-century pieces. Nice vintage appearance with some wear and patina consistent with age and use. Like some scratches on the lacquered steel and some wear on the leather of the arm- and backrest (see detailed pictures) Marked matteograssi in the leather.
