Pair of stools for Les Arcs by Christian Durupt

Pair of stools designed by Christian Durupt for the Les Arcs ski resort in the 1960s. Made of solid pine, probably pine, these stools reflect the functional simplicity and raw aesthetic characteristic of the interior design of the mountain residences designed by Charlotte Perriand, with whom Durupt worked closely. The slightly overhanging square top with two curved sides rests on a sturdy structure with four straight or slightly inclined legs. Provenance: Les Arcs, circa 1960.
