Extendable dining table, Sweden, 1950s-60s

Beech structure with a rectangular top finished in white Perstorp laminate and two 39 cm extension leaves, one at each end. Swedish production, 1950s-60s. Originally conceived as a kitchen table, this Swedish-made model combines a lightly proportioned beech structure with a top finished in white Perstorp laminate, a durable and easy-to-clean material widely used in Scandinavian kitchens during the post-war period. The wooden edge of the top is left visible, echoed by the four straight, slender legs and the supporting structure below. Two 39 cm extension leaves, one at each end, increase the overall length up to 150 cm. A functional design with clean, essential lines, characteristic of Scandinavian domestic furniture of the 1950s and 60s. Good condition. It may show signs of age.
