Enamelled ceramic wall plaque – François de Chabaneix – 1960s

Magnificent wall panel in glazed earthenware by the famous French ceramist François de Chabaneix (1920-2003). This piece of folk art features remarkable incised decoration: the outlines of the character and the decor are engraved into the material, creating a superb textured relief that catches the light. The cells are then subtly coloured with polychrome glazes (bright blue skirt, purple shawl). A highly sought-after graphic and modernist style, typical of the mid-20th century. • Signature: Signed "Chabaneix" in the bottom right in the glaze. • Fixing: Original wire hanging system integrated into the back. • Dimensions: Height 39 cm|Width 19.5 cm|Thickness 2 cm. • Condition: Beautiful vintage condition, shiny glazes, no cracks or restorations. A very beautiful collectible piece, ideal for authentic, bohemian, or modernist decor. Carefully packaged and ultra-protected for shipping.
