Elegant trumeau with chest of drawers from the mid-20th century, a fine reproduction of high craftsmanship in the style of George II. The piece is characterised by a beautiful red japanning finish with rich gold leaf decorations and polychrome scenes in Chinoiserie style (exotic landscapes and hand-painted oriental figures). A piece of great character, perfect as a contrasting element even in modern furnishings. The upper body features double shaped doors topped with a dramatic cornice, while the lower body is characterised by a chest of drawers with 3 large drawers decorated with floral motifs and handles in burnished metal. In excellent vintage condition. Solid structure, vivid colours and lacquer with minimal and normal signs of wear on the edges that certify its period authenticity. A potential small restoration may be considered.
