Very good condition. *French painter born in Arbois (Jura), winner of the Savoy Academy prize in 1913. When his work kept him in Chambéry, he traveled to the surrounding area (the Monts, the Charmettes, Montagnole, the banks of the Hyères River, Caramagne, etc.) or further afield in Maurienne, Tarentaise, and the Mont Blanc massif. He was a delicate landscape painter who produced works that were sometimes melancholic, featuring landscapes with cloudy skies. Awarded a silver medal at the Monaco International Exhibition for his painting "Glacier du Bionnassay, " and a member of the Société des Artistes Français, he saw his works purchased by the French State and the City of Paris. Through his internationally acclaimed work (such as his "Fin d'hiver sur les Montagnes, " acquired by the Beijing Museum), he contributed to the renown of the Alps, which he so faithfully depicted.
