Ceramic lamp from Vallauris, Marius Musarra (1910-1991) Turquoise blue tones / original lampshade in good condition with minimal signs of age and use. Height 96 cm Diameter of lampshade 42.5 cm / Delivery via Cocolis: please ask me Marius Musarra was a Sicilian-born ceramist, based in Vallauris. He notably created both utilitarian and decorative ceramics, including a series of pieces in black and white speckled fat lava with a bright red interior, a style that is becoming popular again among enthusiasts of the 1950s. In 1950, Marius and Marie Musarra established their own workshop, named Mabyjo’s, in reference to the names of their three children. The glazes from L'Hospied adorn the ceramics. The name Mabyjo’s is formed by the contraction of the diminutives of their three children's names: Marinette known as "Manou", Gabriel known as "Gaby", and "Josette". Marius Musarra was awarded several times at the Biennale of Vallauris, as well as in Faenza. His workshop also trained young ceramists, such as Max Siffredi, who worked in the workshop from 1961 to 1973.
