Large coffee table extremely rare, designed by Tage Poulsen in Denmark in the 1960s. An architect, furniture designer, and Danish artist, Tage Poulsen is known for his unique and powerful creations in solid wood, now associated with Scandinavian brutalism. This table is among his most refined works and is rarely found on the vintage market, especially complete with its original linen fabric. The table is entirely made of solid oak and contains no screws. All joints are ingeniously designed rotational connections: the crosspieces fit into milled notches and lock precisely – a principle that impressively unites function and form. The wooden pieces are finely crafted while maintaining powerful and archaic shapes, giving the table its brutalist presence. The top opens in the centre on brass hinges. Beneath it lies a natural linen fabric suspended from the structure, serving as a magazine rack and practical storage for blankets, books, or magazines. The table has been carefully cleaned and serviced, with the brass hinges replaced. It is stable and ready for use. We also offer two armchairs and an ottoman from the same series, available as a complete set with the table in a separate listing. Condition: very good vintage condition – cleaned, serviced, new brass hinges, original linen fabric. A rare collectible piece of Danish craftsmanship. Dimensions: approximately 105 × 105 × 40 cm (width × depth × height).
