Discover this exceptional pair of chairs, a true testament to the craftsmanship of cabinetmakers from the late 19th century. In Neo-Renaissance style, they majestically embody the codes of the High Period and Louis XIII style. Remarkable sculptural work: Backrest: A lush decoration of scrolls, acanthus leaves, and floral motifs surrounds a caned medallion. The top is crowned with a richly carved pediment. Legs and Supports: Superb turned wood work in "twisted columns, " typical of ceremonial furniture. Stretcher: The legs are connected by an H-shaped stretcher, also crafted in twists, ensuring perfect stability. Materials and Condition: Structure in solid wood (walnut or dark oak) with a deep dark patina. The caning of the seat and backrest is in generally good condition and presents a beautiful golden colour that contrasts with the wood. Note some signs of wear related to their age, which confirm their authenticity. Decorative Potential: These chairs are truly statement pieces. They fit perfectly into a classic interior but create a striking contrast and a very "Art Deco" feel in a minimalist or industrial environment.
