Rare primary school armoire in solid oak. It dates from the 1920s or 1930s and is in superb condition. These armoires, which have become very uncommon, furnished French administrations, including schools. They are recognised by their style but also by the serial number that they all bear at the top right, on the side. This one comes from the same primary school as the flap file currently for sale. Both were retrieved by a former teacher upon her retirement a long time ago. We are dealing here with very fine craftsmanship, highly functional, and super sturdy: screw bolts, brass hinges, and precise paneling. This is reflected in its overall appearance. It opens with two oak doors that lead to five original solid wood shelves, mounted on adjustable brackets. The quality of the boards is noted by their thickness (which prevents them from warping over time) and the care taken with the visible part, made of solid oak (not pine). The left door is secured with a screw hook under the central shelf, and the right door locks everything with a key; the lock and key have been replaced and work perfectly. It is very clean, with a warm and luminous patina. There are some signs of wear from use, but it is in very good overall condition. Solid, stable, and very aesthetic, it can be used as is, even in a bedroom or kitchen. H: 205 cm. W: 91 cm. D: 39 cm. The price is firm, thank you. Delivery possible in Île-de-France (to your doorstep only) for 40 euros.
