Superb dan statue in carved wood, measuring 47 cm (including base), from ivory coast. This standing figure, arms at his sides, is adorned with a metal necklace and bracelets, characteristic of dan sculptures. His expressive face and finely braided hairstyle are evidence of refined craftsmanship. Unlike other african sculptures intended for ancestor worship, dan statues have their own social and symbolic value. Estimated period: probably first half of the 20th century (1920-1950), given the natural patina and signs of wear consistent with an old piece. Condition: good general condition with a beautiful patina of time, testifying to its authenticity. Presence of visible cracks on the back, without altering its stability or solidity.
